Could a meal be both easy, inexpensive and so tasty? Yes, menemen is one of the traditional Turkish dishes that are made with a minimum of 3 ingredients (can be added more if desired) and are still very tasty. Although menemen is generally preferred for breakfast, as we mentioned above, it is a meal that can be prepared in a very short time and easily at every meal of the day.

Ingredients for Menemen:

3 tomatoes (puree), 1 finely chopped green pepper, 1 finely chopped onion, 50 ml oil, 1 teaspoon chili pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, half teaspoon black pepper, 2 eggs.

Turkish Menemen Recipe:

Pour 50 ml of oil and 1 finely chopped onion into the pan and fry for 1 minute. Add 1 finely chopped green pepper. Mix for 1 minute and fry.

Add tomato puree, chili peppers, salt, black pepper and mix well. Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes. Crack 2 eggs in a bowl and whisk well. Add to pan and spread gently. Cook for 1 more minute and serve hot.

Notes:

You may add some cheese, sausages, sucuk or red peppers upon request. It will be very delicious all ways.
